Pres't Wilford Woodruff S L City Dear Sir: A friend, today, handed me the Salt Lake Herald of Apr. 11th (Semiweekly) containing your remarks, at the late Conference, concerning John D. Lee and the Mountain Meadows Massacre. I thank you most Sincerly for raising Such noble Sentiments as you did. I have suffered much for expressing the same opinions, in regard to Lee, twenty five years ago. I was a candidate for the office of J. P., in this city, in [18]92 when one Wm Creer, who is a priest of 70s in the 50th Quorum, urged the fact against me that I had "ex -posed the M. M. Massacre" which he then charged as a crime which, should disqualify me for holding office amon among the people of this territory

Provo Utah Mr Wilford Woodruff Dear Brother I am needed very baldly on my farm to make ditches and prepare for watering this is some thing that I cannot hire done because others dont under stand how nor where they should be made I have had to hire all my work done so far and I have been paying a boy $10 per month ten dollars per month all winter to do my chores and I had to borrow the money to come down and to pay my way here and I am owing $500 00/100 five hundred dollars before I came down and I have nothing but my farm to depend upon so I would like your advice on the matter I am willing to stay until the end if you
