Prest Wilford Woodruff Dear Bro.
Apostle Moses Thatcher informs me that the matter of sealing of
one Peter Jeppsen and a young woman I do not now remember Her Name
both Deseased However, were sealed here in July 1890 and it has
been brot to your attention, with the report that I had canseled the
sealing, and I am informed that one of the Recorders viz J. A
Leishman reported the action to the Father of the deseased son
&c, now the facts in the Case are this, the sealing was don
as above stated, and it was made to appear shortly after the work
was don, that the sealing was an improper one, as the said
Peter Jeppson was not a believer in the principal of plural marriage
and the deseased Girl was sealed as a plural wife, when I found
out that this was the Case, I directed that the sealing must not
be recorded and directed Bro Leishman to so notify the Father
so He could appeal if He wished too, to the President of the Church
will say I have never Claimed, or exersed aney authority to Cansel a
sealing after it was done and recorded, it then is beyond my authority
but was instructed by Prest Taylor to Corect aney and all work where an
error had occured and the error was found out before said work was
recorded, but after a record was made permantly then I must be corrected
by the President of the Church, this is the rule I have followed and
a number of Corrictions have been made where people have made
