Prest. Wilford Woodruff:
Dear Brother:
Two other questions are presented
to me which I would like to submit
for answer of your convenience:
1st
If a recommend signed by
the Prest. of the mission certifying
that a member has paid his or her tithes
and fulfilled all the duties of a L. D. Saint
equivalent to a Bishops recommend
entitling the holder to this blessing,
of the Temple & c!no, The rile is that such
recommens will entitle the
holder to membership in any ward, in any stake of Zion with
which he or she may wish [to attend]. Any exception of this rule
must come from the Presidency. the [decision on menites]
2nd
After an Elder has filled
his mission does the Church pay
his far home in whole or in part?
The Church generally pays the [Rij] fare of
returning missionaries from field of labor
to their homes by [marett] route, and [our]
special rates procurred by our agents.
