Utah Company and we had a great Deal of
company Col Trumbo & Lady called upon us in
the Evening Gave us an invitation to go to Sanfrancisco

Salt Lake City,. President Wilford Woodruff, Esq. City. Dear Brother: I have received your letter of the 4th inst. and am very happy that I may fulfill a mission to Europe. I am perfectly prepared to leave on Oct. the 13th as fixed by yourself. As I have stated to Bro. Geo. Reynolds I will not be able to begin to labor directly after arrival in Europe as I have to settle some private matters connected with my father's estate, but as soon as I have settled this I shall notify the president of the European mission and take pleasure to labor where ever it may be desired. Letter from Thomas Heddock Hilton, 9 October 1894
To The First Presidency Salt Lake City. Utah. Dear Brethern: - Inclosed in an envelope addressed to me from P.O. box B, I found, much to my disapp= ointment, a letter for Pres. Wm Gardner - New Zealand. I presume the clerk made an error when inclosing the letters. I discouvered the mistake before the steamer left, however, and forwarded the same to Elder Gardner. It is several months since I received a letter from you, consequently I felt very much di= appointed. All is well with us here at present, and spiritually we feel to rejoice in the good work in which we are engaged, the Lord is greatly blessing us in our labors. The people of three large villages to whom we have been preaching the last few months, have expressed themselves as being desirous of joining our Church if we will only furnish them with missionaries to take the places of their present Protestant teachers; this we cannot do at present owing to the limited number of Elders now on Samoa who can talk the native language, and all those that do understand it are wholly engaged among the
