Letter from Abraham Owen Woodruff, 15 May 1896
Dearest Parents: You may be anxiously wondering where I am at, so trusting a few lines may relieve you untill we meet personally I take pleasure in inform- ing you that we are progressing nicely on our journey and intend sailing the 21st in less than a week. We had a glorious time in London, Prest. Ben R. Eldredge and all the boys doing all they could to make our visit a success and succeeded famously. Insted of going to Liverpool we are going to attend the New Castle Conference Sunday and will meet Prest. Lund tomorrow. We had a very rough voyage of twenty-four hours up the coast from London to South Shields and both Jake and I were real sick. Pa's kind letter directed to Liverpool was a sorce of joy to me as I had not heard from home for so long and began to get anxious. How thoughtful and kind of the dear soul to think of getting me a horse; Pa always thinks of every one but himself. It is our intention to go to Edinburough
