September 03, 1896 ~ Thursday

Sept 3rd Emma and Asahel done some shopping
I received a package of letters this morning. 6 for
myself, 2 for Asahel, 1 for Emma & 2 for Bro Cannon.
Prest. Joseph F Smith says in his letter, that sister Ellen
Spencer Clawson
is dead. At 2.40 we took the cars to
San Pedro to go to Catalina Island. We traveled about
30 minutes in the cars and then by Steamer to the island
which is about 30 miles, and spent the night at
Avalon.
