Juab, Utah. . President W. Woodruff, Salt Lake City Utah. Dear Sir, I take the liberty of writing to you about a subject which I know is of interest to you, and I also wish to make a request which I trust you will not consider an intrusion, and as an in- troduction to the subject, I will state that the writer of this is R. R. Candee who sunk the Artesian Well at your residence. With the New Improved Well Machine, which I had just built and with which I have since, successfully sunk several other large wells, in and about Salt Lake City. I am at present Drilling a Prospect Well for Oil or Coal in the mountains, about 12 miles South East of Levan, Juab Co. and I have been here something over two months, in which time I have had ample opportunity to look
