Letter from Collie Robison, 3 March 1897

Cedar City, Iron Co., Utah, Pres. W. Woodruff, Salt Lake City, Utah. Dear Bro: Yours of Feb 26th addressed to Fillmore City and informing me of my call to Tahiti, has been forwarded to me. I have been preparing myself for a Medical Course and intended entering Harvard College this coming September. Of course I feel like doing what I can to farther the cause of our Gospel, and if, in view of my plans you think that I should accept this call could my mission be changed to Europe? I have people in England, and I am some- what acquainted with the German Language having taken at course in German @ the B. Y. A. Provo. Now I leave the matter in your hands whether I take my course at Harvard first or the mission. Awaiting your reply I am Your Bro. in the Gospel. Collie Robison P. O. Box 68. Cedar City, Utah. Letter from Sarah Jane Rich Tobin Miller, 4 March 1897

Salt Lake City President, Wilford Woodruff. Dear Brother I come to you as I would to my father, (Charles C Rich) asking a favor of you, owing to sickness and the hard times I have only had two weeks work since last April, I am (58) fifty eight years of age and can not do as I could when I was younger, can you make me a small monthly allowance from the Tithing store house? until such times as I can help myself. I have suffered both for food and fuel before I would make this appeal to you as I do not like to be placed on the charity list if you can grant this request I shall be thankful I remain your Sister in the Gospel Sarah Jane Rich 146 W 2nd North street
