Mt Carmel Prest Wilferd Woodruff Salt Lake City Dear Brother In reply to yours bearing date of Jan 18th I except the call made by you to take a mission to the Southern States. I am thank full that I have been considered worthy of such a high and Holy calling, but if I was left to be a judge, would say you had made a mistake in me for a preacher for I feel my inability very much. Still I feel to obey the Preiesthood and will do the best that I can. Yours in the cause of truth Lorenzo Jolley Haskell S Jolley Bishop

Provo City, Utah, . Wilford Woodruff, Esq., President, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Salt Lake, Utah, Dear Sir:— a man is going around Provo & Springville with a paper bearing the signature of yourself and Joseph F. He is about 30 years of age, Height 5.10 light complection, light moustach and goes by the name of Russell, at least that is the name given on the paper that he carries which asks aid in his behalf. I beleive him to be a fake and would ask that you inform me by return of mail whether or not the authority he holds is genuine. Thanking you for your trouble, I remain, George A. Storrs, Sheriff. To the First Presidency of the Church Dear Brethren I beg leaf [leave] to trespass upon your valuable time for a few moments. Some time previous to President Youngs death I remember he spoke on several occasions to the saints in regard to dancing, and among ohther thing counceled them to refrain from round dancing; as one of his sermons was published that was more severe in his denunciations of the practice I had it read in a public meeting, and then asked an ex- pressoion of the saints as to their ^feelings^ in regard to taking the council thereing given, the result was a unanimous vote not to round dance, since which time there has been no round dancing in our public dances in this ward But now there seems to be a desire on the part
