Journal Entry

August 19, 1898 ~ Friday

Fri Aug 19th We took cars and rode to the wharf, to take a ride
on the steamer, but it rained so we did not go and returned
to our stopping place. I received an invitation to attend the
Bohemian Club for two weeks.

Alice McEwan my daughter
had a daughter born to her this morning. Mother and child doing
well. Thank God. I got a telegram from James Jack giving
the news.

Prest Cannon got a telegram saying his
daughter Vera was quite bad with apendicitis and was to
be operated upon. This will cause Brother and Sister Cannons
return home.
