I wrote A letter to Elder James Skerry And informed
him that He was cut off from the Church Also made out
the minutes of the conference gave Brothers Maxfields
their liscense. In the evening Brother Maxfields both went
with us to the wharf to take the Packet back to Shediac at
10 oclok we parted with them Brother Russell & myself went
on the packet they hoisted sail & put out under A good
breeze. A Plesant evening I remained on deck all night 6 m[iles]

August 5, 1849 ~ Sunday 5th Sunday A Hard rainy morning I took the parting hand this Morning with Brother Joseph Russell He is truly a man of faith & great kindness we have had an interesting time together wehen we parted He gave me A suit of New clothes & other presents paid all my expenses while together & gave me money to help me home May the Lord bless him & reward him fourfold.
