Letter to Francis Asbury Hammond, 11 August 1887
Salt Lake City, U. T. . President F. A. Hammond, Bluff City, San Juan Co. Dear Brother: The case of Elder Thales Haskell was brought before the Council from a letter which you wrote, under date of the 26th ult., to Bishop Wm B. Preston. The sum of $150.00 was appropriated, in tithing produce, for his benefit, an order for which is enclosed herewith. Letter from Daniel Harrington, 11 August 1887
Salt Lake City, . Pres. Wilford Woodruff and The Quorum of Apostles: Dear Brethren: Through lack of time and a proper consideration of details, in my letter to you of the 8th inst., I failed to give you an idea of just who the party or parties would be who would undertake the work of preparing the subject matter for the history. In this regard I wish to say that no definite arrangements have been made, but I have talked the matter over with various members of the family and it was partially understood, as George J.—Pres. Taylor's oldest son, and myself had previaously been ap- pointed by the family to write up a full obituary, that we carry the matter still farther and prepare a complet[e] history, embodying reminiscenses, etc. Elder L. John Nuttall has also been referred to as a proper person to take part in the work; but it is not yet de- cided as to what names shall be attached
