Rexburg, Bingham Co., Idaho, President Wilford Woodruff. Salt Lake City, Utah. Dear Brother In reply to your esteemed favor of the 9th ultimo regarding the educational Interests of the Bannock Stake. We would respectfully represent that according to our Sunday School report presented for the half year ending June 30th 1887, there were enrolled 551 Male Pupils and 505 Female Pupils making a Total of 1056 Pupils, which without doubt has greatly increased since; this being the representation of 21 Wards and Branches who are to a greater or less extent prohibited from receiving the benefits of the appropriation made from the Territory because of our Faith; and as the majority of the Saints would like to have schools established, taught by men of our Faith, who wcould defuse the prin- ciples of the Gospel more fully, into the minds of their Children, and we think that

Dear Beloved Brethren; Your kind and much appriciated letter of ^the^ 3rd of April came duly to hand, and was read with deep interest, and I now fear that I was not considerate enough of your many labors, expecting an answer to mine in so short a time, if so, it was from the great desire I had to hear from you before our conference, and often in our anxiety we do not carefully weigh the surroundings as we should before we Jump at conclusions. Therefore I beg to be excused, and hope to exercise more patience in the future.
