Letter from Brigham Young Jr., 5 September 1890
Prest. W. Woodruff Dr. Br: I am here at 42 in good shape health and spirits good, my wife and children feeling fine. Our journey to N. Y. and accross the ocean was comforta- ble and expeditious. The Lord has delivered ^me^ out of all my distresses to date. I trust Him for the fuature. Prest. Teasdale is looking usually well, a little worn and I cannot blame him for that. We have been here two nights and my wife declares she has not slept two hours either night. The constant rumbleing of carts, etc. and when they cease, all hell is let loose from the gin palaces—a crowds that make night hidious with their curses and howls. I am in the same fix ^as my wife^ but will soon settle down to the sit- uation, no doubt we all shall get used to it in a few weeks Oh, the turmoil and filth is distracting. How that are we in the mountains Love to Prests. Geo. Q. Cannon & J. S. Smith and all the brethren. Your Brother in Christ Brigham Young over
