Letter from Thomas Edwin Ricks, 4 September 1890
Rexburg, Bingham Co, Idaho. Prest. W. Woodruff Salt Lake City Dear Brother, The Aline Ward covers an extent of 12 x 25 miles of country. There are about 40 families altogether 17 being in the south end, about 12 miles from their meeting house. The latter asks for a ward organization and as the Bishop cannot do justice to the whole and approves of the request, we submit the matter for your consideration. We purpose holding a two days meeting 13 & 14th in the ward and would be pleased to hear what change to make whether we should give them a ward or branch organization We Are Your Brethren in the Gospel T. Rexburg, Bingham Co, Idaho. President Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City Dear Brother, We enclose you a circular by which you will see we purpose holding a Fair 18 & 19 inst. for the benefit of our stake. Being our first effort in this way we deemed it best to make it free to exhibitors and visitors and necessarily we have to depend upon the people to donate for its support who are responding as freely as expected. To help us in the enterprise can you see your way to appropriate us something say $50 which would be thankfully received and be a considerable help I am Your Brother in the Gospel T E Ricks
