Letter from John Taylor, 11 September 1890
Pres. Wilford Woodruff Dear Brother Yours of Aug. 27, received and after careful consideration I beg leave to present for your consideration the following: For some years I have been troubled with kidney disease, which prevents my travelling but very little. By care I can do some work around home but am far from being a sound, healthy man and walking much quickly overcomes me. In addition to that I am somewhat involved in debt, and to go would place myself and family in very unpleasant
Letter from Brigham Young Jr., 11 September 1890
Prest. W. Woodruff Dear Bro: Conference coming off so soon in London hurried me ^us^ away from L.pool before we had gotten fairly rested from fatigue from long journies. I have but my family with me and they are astound- ed at the great city of London, Prest. Teasdale is expediting busi- ness and expects to sail near the first to fourth of October. Taking leave of the saints is very affecting, it seems like pulling up home stackes and the saints feel it too. I trust the few who belong to the Church will try and reconcile them- selves to the change which has taken place. P.S. Any counsel or directions you have for me will be thankfully received. Trust me brethren and I will not dissappoint you nor the Lord with His help. Letter of appointment received. God bless you B. Y.
