Rexburg, Idaho, Prest. W. Woodruff Salt Lake City Dear Brother, Our conference was held Sunday and Monday last when we had with us Brother S. B. Young who gave us many good words of encouragement and counsel in the line of our duties. A novel feature of this conference was the visit of Governor McConnel, he attended both meetings Monday and made us quite a speech in the afternoon after having been presented with an address of welcome on behalf of our Village Trustees and citizens. He treated discussed fully some of the subjects of greatest interest to the people of our stake particularly the land and water question he wanted the latter in such a shape that the people who settled the land could own and control

Letter from Charles John Aaron Lindquist, 22 November 1893

Ogden, Utah, . Pres's Woodruff Cannon Smith, Salt Lake City, Dear Brethrens, Some time since I wrote you a letter about a Heat Plant I have for sale. As I have had no reply, I write you a few lines. As I have a letter from a Gentleman in Seattle enquireing the price of a portion of the Goods. But as I would rather s[e]ll it all in one lump and be done with it, I wished to know if you can take the same in the way I offered it to you. Br Flygare went over and looked at it, but it is all knocked down and piled up. So he could not see much of it. The Machinery is not new, but the man who bought it for me, who is an old Hatter said it was good, and reckemendid it highly. The Hydraulic Press, is run by Gass. I here with mail you a Photograph of the Press when set up. I do not think you would be taking much chances on taking it. Hoping to hear from you, I am Your Brother C. J. A. Lindquist.
