Letter from Ransom Marion Stevens, 26 March 1894

Fagali, Samoa, To The First Presidency, Salt Lake City, Utah. Dear Brethren: Your favor of the 6th inst, with draft for $22500, came safely to hand. Sorry to report the very sudden demise of little Harold Hilton which occurred on the 17th inst. All that loving hands could do was done for him, but the Lord saw fit to take him from our midst, and we meekly sub- mit to His decree, knowing that whatsoever the Lord doeth, He doeth for a wise purpose in Himself. By letter received to day from Elder O. D. Merrill, we are informed that Sister Adams, of whom I wrote in my last to you, is fast recovering from her sick- ness, being up and around again. In this, as in every thing else, we humbly acknowledge the hand of the Lord, and feel very thankful to Him for restoring our Sister to health & strength, in answer to our fasting and praying in her behalf. At present, good health and spirits are enjoyed by us all. Our meetings yesterday were very largely attended, there being over seventy present. This is more than usual
