Letter from Anonymous, 19 June 1894

Salt Lake,
Dear Bro.
After due consideration, I have finally
concluded to write you a few lines, in
regard to the remarks that have been
made from time to time, by several of
the church authorities regarding the so
called secret societies.
While some of the speakers claim to have
a knowledge of such societies, I must
say with all due respect to such speakers,
that they evidently have been misinformed
or are not fully cognizant of the details
and practical workings of these orders,
I will refer now, more especially to that
organization known as the A. O. U. W.
In this order the objects and methods of
conducting business, are as public as
printed matter can make them, as will
be seen by the enclosed pamphlet.
Every member must believe in a Supreme
Being, the Creater and Ruler of the Universe
Sect or Denomination is absolutely ignored.
