Letter from Abraham Owen Woodruff, 9 July 1894
Prest. W. Woodruff Dearest Father: Letters from yourself, Ma and Blanche, dated June ^19th^ 20th & 17th respectively were received with pleasure but I must say there were some things in one of them which made me feel bad and my ernest hope is that you may be united in Family Children, and Parents, that the spirit of happiness may dwell in every heart, in our dear Home. Pa I wish to have a little talk with you, get some counsil and lay: I may say some plans for the future. Prehaps you can help me with your influence to bring about some of my desires. After I have told you what I should like then you may give me your oppinion and counsel as to whether it is right or not. Although my mission has only just begun I wish to have a plan to work by. I would be very pleased to have the priviledge to work in several places or fields in our mission. It is my opinion that it is not good for a Missionary to labor too long in one place as a change is good for Elders as well as the people. Therefore I shall name some places I should like to see before my mission is completed; to give me a change of fields as well as to see the different parts of Germany. Would like very much to labor in Kiel either this summer or next, Kiel is in the extreme north of Germany. Another field I should like to work in for awhile is Berlin, the Capital of Germany. Where brother McEwan now is. [upside down text] P. S. The fleas I have here are not from Africa and don't take but little notice of camphor. I will give it a therough trial however A. O. Letter from Daniel Stevens, 9 July 1894
Fillmore July 9, 1894. Pres. Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City Dear Bro, Your letter of 5th, received, calling me as a missionary to the Indian Terr. I was not surprized as I happened to know that my name had been sent in. Bro Andrew Kimball who was through here a few months ago, took my name on the recommendation of Bro F. F. Merrill of this ward. I have never felt well about this since I knew that my name was taken. I dont question Bro. Kimball's Authority
Letter from James Leishman Wrathall, 9 July 1894
Grantsville, Utah, Prest Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City Utah Dear Brother As Bros. J. R. Clark and Robert R. Judd have been called to labor as missionaries of the Gosple of Salvation to the Nations of the earth, I take great pleasure in recommending them as being worthy of the labor and duties of a Minister of Christ, and trust the blessings of the Lord will abide with them as they have been blessed at home. Your brother in the Gospel of peace James L. Wruthall Very good. J. F. S.
