Letter from Charles James Nethercott, 12 August 1894
First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dear Brethern, Having been called to prepare my-self for a mission to California, By President Woodruff on the 4th of last August 19893, I now take this opportunity of reporting to you. When I was called last year, I was not pre pared to go. But since then I have made every sacrafice that lay in my power—and have sought the Lord in prayer; that He would open up the way for me, That I may be able to fulfill the Mission assigned me by His Servants and Prophets whom He has called to guide
