Salt Lake City,
Dear sir I am in receipt
of your favor, notifying me of
my being chosen as a missionary
to the Southern States. In
reply will say, It is my desire
to do as near as I can what I am
called upon to do, by those in authority
in the Church. I have not the
means at hand to go so soon as
the date set by you, nor have I
any thing I can raise it
on, by that time. If you will
extend the time to about the
fore part of April I will do my
best to try to be prepared to go
at that time. Will you please
