Letter from Andrew Kimball, 7 February 1897

Address St. John Kansas, 7 C. Flat To the First Presidency Salt Lake City. Dear Brethren: We wrote you the other day to send an Elder to Piggott Arkansas. If he has not already gone please do not send him until you receive word from Prest James L. Nielson where to send him. As before stated send two to Manard, Ind. Ty. and the remainder to St John Kansas, if there are any ready to come. Owing to the bitter feeling and mobbing of our Elders in Clay Co. and subsequent threats, we have deemed it advisa- [able] to call the Elders out of there temporarily and consequently there will be no one at Piggott to meet the new Elders. We are just completing our conference here in Oklahoma, the Spirit of the Lord has been poured out upon us in great abundance and we have every cause to rejoice.
