April 06, 1897 ~ Tuesday

April 6^th I slept some 5 hours after midnight. Bro Nuttall shaved me, ate
my breakfast of bread & milk, dressed for meeting Pre^s Geo. Q. Cannon called at 8:40
left with Bro^s. Cannon & Nuttall in the Carriage at 9 oclock for the office. Dr Snow
had prescribed some strengthing medicine which Bro Nuttall took with him and gave to me
at stated times. drove to the Tabernacle at 9⁴⁵ Pres L. Snow & Elder F D Richards
met us at the door. On entering the stand the Congregation waived their handker-
chiefs, thus expressing their pleasure at my presence. The Choir & congregation
sang "We thank thee o gGod for a Prophet," prayer by Elder John Nicholson, sang,
I then addressed the Conference in a clear and firm voice for 10 minutes.

Letter from Isaac C. MacFarlane, 6 April 1897

Cedar City . President Woodruff Dear Brother, In reply to the call I received a short time ago to take a mission to the Indian Teritory, will say. If nothing transpires to prevent me, and the Lord will help me, I will be ready to start at the appoindted time. I feel my unworthyness, and inibelity to preforme such a labor, but if I can do any good, I will be only to glad to go. Trusting in the Lord for my support I am your Brother, in the ghospel.
