Letter from Willard White Pitkin, 21 April 1897

Millville Cache Co April 21 1897 to the first Prisdency of the Lateaday Saints. Dear brothern I received a letter from the Missionary Com. of the Apostles, in inquiring after my willings to be called on a Mission. I am will- ing to comply with your request for I can see that it will bring eternal life to obey the Laws of god, and I feel free in answering all of the questions you asked me last fall. Father and I bought a farm near Weston in Idaho, and it leaves us in a bad condition to go this spring. If you could let me stay home one year, I think I could pay some of my debts and save my farm, but the will of the Lord be done and not mine.
