April 10, 1898 ~ Sunday

1898.
Sunday April 10th. I feel well this morning. Attended the
conference at 10 am. Sang, prayer by Bro Orson Smith. Sang
President Lorenzo Snow, spoke 31 mints & read 64 Sec 8 ver & Sec 84, 33 ver
Doctrine & Covenants. Choir sang "O, My Father." President Joseph F Smith
spoke 57 mints. Sang & Benediction. Went to the office & had lunch

Attended Conference at 2 pm. Sang. prayer. Sang
Elder F. D Richards spoke, President Geo Q Cannon 40 mints, I followed
for 15 mints. Sang "God of Israel." Benediction by Bro C. W. Penrose
Conference adjourned for six months.

I drove down home.

Santa Clara . President Wilford Woodruff. Dear Brother. Your letter of March the 25th is in hand in your letter you stated that you would like to have me to start from Salt Lake City to Switzerland on a mission as early a date as July if there is no reasonable obsticle in the way. I would be only to pleased to start at that time if I had the necessary means on hand. But with the help of the Lord I think I will be able to get ready in September. PRESIDENT WILFORD WOODRUFF Historical incidents—Keys of power from Joseph to the Twelve—Founders of our nation inspired— Afflictions awaiting the world—Importance of re- deeming the dead. At the close of this Conference I have a desire to bear my testimony before you upon a few principles. I have rejoiced very much during this Conference in listening to the testi- mony of the Apostles and Elders who have spoken. It has brought to my remembrance a little of my history.
