May 9, 1878 I wrote to Sarah & James G. Bleak I made prepara-
tions for the funeral

10 I Attended the funeral of Emily Jane Smith
Woodruff which was held in the 17 [ward]. A large congregation
assembled. F. D. RichardsE Snow & J Taylor spoke at the
funeral then closed & some 30 carriages followed the Rem[ain]s
to the Grave On our returned home we went to our various
place^s^ of abode I went to the field and spent the night 6 M[iles]
~ Saturday
11. I receed 3 letters & wrote 2 to Susan I was quite
unwell with sore throat and cold on the Lungs 16
~ Sunday
12 I receved a letter from J. G. Bleak with a draft of
$250. I wrote 2 letters 17 to J G Bleak and Sarah
~ Monday
13. I wrote 18. 2 to J. G. Bleak I Administered to Sister Hardy.
16 I arose quite Poorly this morning But started in
a cold wind storm & finally turned to snow we drove
to Ephraim and when we arived the trees was covered
with snow we spent the night with Hans Frederick
PetersonE Snow, & wife, F D Richard & myself stoped
for the night distance 35 M[iles]
I went to bed at 9 oclok & soon began to b choaked up
and at 12 oclok I felt as though I would choak to death
E Snow & F D Richards Administered to me & I got
some warm drink & I was better & slept some

a Meeeting at 8 oclok F D Richards prayed L W Hardy spoke
10 Minuts E Snow 10, J Taylor 30 Minutes. I spent the
night at Sister Oakys. distance of the day 90 Miles
