Journal Entry

January 30, 1846 ~ Friday

30th The wind is again dead ahead And
we have to persue the old course to beat
against gales & stormes & rough winds I
was quite sick this morning And vomited
the first time since I have been on board
it is truly A gloomy day we had a gale at
night it rocked so bad I could sccarcely
keep in bed
