July 08, 1877 ~ Sunday

July 8. Sunday D. H. Cannon prayed Luke Syphos spok 4 [minutes],
Miles P Romney 16 M, Walter Granger 5 M, J. W.
Nixon
4 M, D. H. Cannon 5 M. The above Brethren reported
their wards. The Authorities of the whole Church was
then presented and sustained by the people

Afternoon sacrament administered J. D. T. McAllister read
in the Exponent about administering sacrament to children
and said president Young requested the Bishops to administer
the sacrament to the Sabbath school children. Brother Blake
then made a report of the United Order of St George
Joseph Orton reported the Straw Brade business, flour Business
and & shoe business. J McAllister presented a woman
cotton Hat knit by a woman. He also called for the
Brethren to come and grade the Temple Block
W Woodruff then spoke 30 Minuts

President Wilford Woodruff as President of St. George Temple presented his Report of Ordiance work done there for the three months ending, 30th June: Baptisms, 9,511; Endowments, 4,436; Ordinations, 1,675; Seal- ings 1,524; Adoptions and Sealings of Children to Parents, 171. He bore testimony to the onward course of the purposes of the Almighty, and exhorted the people to increased faith- fulness in spiritual and in temporal affairs. Spoke of the neccessity which existed for having a reliable pump for Temple use, and suggested that a subscription list be started to obtain the needed means to purchase one.
