Prest Woodruff, expressed
his gladness to meet with the saints of this stake. gave a
graphic account of the entrance of the pioneers into these
vallies and early incidents connected therewith, related in-
teresting portions of his early history and desire to know the
truth, his long service of 57 years in the church, the
provisions and blessings offered by the Gosple to the living
and the dead, the manner the saints have been treated by
the world in all ages, and the conwicked condition of the
present generation. if there ever was a more wicked
generation than the present one I have never read of it.
I marvel at the change that has taken place in this na-
tion. Jesus was not popular with man, but despised,
called Belzebub, crpersecuted and finaly crucified, his apos-
tles were put to death. John was miraculously preserved.
Joseph & his Bro Hryum were put to death in this nation
and John Taylor his with four bullets at the (death) martyr-
dom of Joseph & Hyrum. persecution was waged against
the people of God in every dispensation, exhorted the saints to
faithfulness and prayed God to bless them.
