Salt Lake City, U.T. . To the First Presidency: Being asked to offer some proposition in the difficulty, which has arisen in the contemplated starting of a new German paper, I respectfully submit the following: First proposition: That the church make some arrangements with Brother Ward- and I be allowed to proceed with the establishment of the new paper under (their) favor. Letter from Andrew Otto Ingelstrom, 8 March 1894

Pres Wilford Woodruff Dr Bro In absence of Pres Ricks, I write you in you regard to mission of Bro Rasmus M Larsen, of this place, ^and^ will say he brought a good reccomend with him from Bear River City, has been while here ward teacher, his age is 46 years, is of a sturdy robust nature. It would seem to be a now or never mission with him, for the reason that his boys ifs of that age, that while now they can ^and^ will take care of family during their Father's absence, as well as assist him, yet but a few years ^and^ they will have families of their own. Letter from Abraham Owen Woodruff, 8 March 1894

Dearest Father and Mother: Your ever kind letters, bearing date of Jan. 18th were received yesterday. First I will proceed to answer your questions On answer to Pa's will say: Yes I was very sick on the ocean & it was very cold at times but as I had good warm clotihng that did not bother me much. I felt so sick, that freezing would have been an easy way out of my trouble. You asked how I slept. I lay in my bed wedged in with my life-"preserver." Possibly this will make you shudder but my preserver proved to be a preserver of peace as well as life. Who occupied the room with me? No one, & in a fiew cases when my life-preserver happened to slip, I occupied the whole room or at least was all over it, miked [mixed] up with my valise & traps until I could hardly get my bearings again. By the way there was about 8 days of my trip; I never did git my bearings & nothing short of the Earth would satisfy me. Rather selfish was'nt I? Your next question was; could you eat well. Three dreary days & nights I did not eat a bite.
