Kanarrah Bro Woodruff Dear Brother yours of the 27 at hand I have studed the matter over sence you wrote me last spring my conditions financaly is worse than it was last spring as my crop was very light on acount of the drouth my famlaey is all young not large aknuf to help earn ther living the oldes boy being 13 years old my wife is afflictd with rumatism so tat that she is not abel to care for her famley if she was left alone then I have my fathers towo wives my mother and aunt and they air both aged and feabel and no one to see after them but me and it takes all I can urn to keep them as I have no in come only my hands under these condition I cant meet the the necsessits of a misionary wihthout leaving those who depend on me in distress and want if the Lord ever blesses me with means and helth in my famley so that I can go I will reporte my self reddy if wanted your brother in the gospel Charles Parker Peresident Woodruff. President Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City. Beloved Brother: I am reminded through reading the proof of of matter, which is to appear in a coming number of the "Millennial Star," treating upon your remarkable life and labor; that in a few more days you will have reached your ninetieth birthday. The saints throughout the world rejoice and thank God that your life is still preserved, I most heartily join in their acclamations of joy. Your long life has been a great blessing to all the Lords people. Your acquaintance and association with the Prophet Joseph Smith, and the testimonies you have borne concerning his teachings, and the revelations the Lord gave through him have been delivered in the power and demonstration of the holy spirit, and have swept away the doubts that have arisen in the minds of some; bringing the truth of God before them and assisting them to plant their feet in a firm and safe place. I have rejoiced in listening to the testimony you have often borne, concering points of doctrine, and other matters which some have sought to wrest or deny, and I am sure that thousands of others, both old, any young, in the land of Zion
