I spent a portion of this New Years day in moving trunks
and sundries into our New House I spent the night at the farm

January 2, 1879 ~ Thursday

Jan 2nd 1879 I spent the day at the farm Emma had
a Daughter Born to day at 5.30 PM. We named her
Mary Allice and I Blessed her and Returned to the city at
10 Oclock, and prepared for leaving in the morning

January 3, 1879 ~ Friday

3^rd I arose at 5 oclok and was on the cars at 7 and was
accompanied By Moses Thatcher at Pason we arived
at york at 12 oclk took coach atto Nephie. I spent the
night with Brother Harley 95 Mile

I wrote 3 Letters to E Snow J D T McAllister & J G Bleak

January 4, 1879 ~ Saturday

4. In company with M Thatcher we rode to Levan
and attended a 2 days Meeting we attended the afternoon
Meeting John Hawkins Prayed Bishop Charles Spery spoke 10 M[inutes]
Jacob Bigler 10, Edwin Scott spoke 12, Thomas Crawley 5
James B Darton 5 M[inutes], Moses Thatcher 26 Minuts and
explained Modys Explanation Mo of making the
Cromus which takes 20 stone impressions before it
was finished so with the Mind of children the impressions
first made upon children are not seen untill the 20
year then whether good or bad no power can erase it
W Woodruff spoke 10 Minuts. In the Evening we met
with the young men and women M Thatcher spoke 30 M[inutes]
W Woodruff 30.

January 5, 1879 ~ Sunday

5 Sunday Met at 10 oclok W Woodruff addressed the assembly
One hour & 11 Minuts Afternoon M Thatcher spoke 25 M[inutes]
He read the 18 chapter of Mathew, K H Brown spoke 7 M[inutes]
G Teasdale spoke 30 M[inutes], W Woodruff spoke 25 Minutes
