As I glady bid adieu
To the world's fancied pleasures,
You pity my weakness;

The joys of religion,
That best hidden treasure;
Would you have me forsake them,

You ought to rejoice
When I say, I've received
The only true pleasures
Attained below;
I know by experience

I the gay scenes of life,
